By Popular Demand..

I'm writing another blog.  I know what you're thinking.. "It's been so long!  Why start back?"  Well, I just want to.  I actually had a friend say something about me not writing in a long time on here, so here I am.

Well, school is going great.  I'm still holding a 99.72 average in there, which is cool.  I'm really hoping to be a member of the Dean's list before I get out of there.  I'm working hard on it.

I've been parted from my ex now for going on 2 months.  It's been pretty ok.  I've had quite a bit of downtime, which is the thing that kinda stinks about being single.  Sadly, most of my friends are in college out of state, so I don't have a huge slew of friends to hang with, other than my really good friend Aman.  I'm really thankful for him because he's pretty awesome.  I have some friends from school, but I don't see them much outside of school.  I actually hope to play music one day with Keith from my school, but we'll see how that pans out.

But, yea.  I hope this blog has informed many millions of people about how lame my life really is.  If not, I will go into more detail at a later date.

P.S.  Kelly.  Jeff said he has the key to your heart.  He's ready to open it.

Thanks for reading, fine folks of America and abroad.

Take Care,
Josh.

Concert.

Last night I went to a concert at a church my friend goes to sometimes.  His uncle was actually the one performing.  I don't know if any of you have ever heard of Bryan Duncan, but, that's who played.  He is still just as good as he ever was.  He has a very powerful voice and is blessed with talent of writing and composing.  I listen to his material all of the time.  His new CD is really funky.  It's called "Still Dancin.'"  I highly recommend you Google it and buy it if you can.  Check out his older stuff too.  If you're in to christian music, this is great stuff.

Well, I'm working quite a bit more coming up this week.  The past week I only worked Tuesday.  I don't work again until Tuesday this week.  Looking forward to some money, though.

Thanks for reading.

She's gone.

So, I haven't written a blog in a bit.  I'm here to do a little update action.

First and foremost, My girlfriend and I broke up after almost 2 1/2 years together.  I took it very hard at first because everything was so confusing, but now looking back, it's for the best.  I don't think she was really ready for anything super serious past the point of a long term relationship anyways, where I am getting there.  There were some things about her that I found were never going to change so it was all for the best.

I'm looking forward to the future and to what God is about to do in my life.  I plan on seeking his face much more so than I have in the recent past.  I feel like I put God to the side when He should have been my top priority.  I need Him more in my life to continue on in this world and make it through.

School is going well.  I'm really enjoying my Design III class.  We turned in the thing I talked about in my last blog today.  It'll go to the head of the bureau and they'll choose one of our logos.  It's pretty exciting.

Well, that's all for now.  Please, if you read this, send up an extra prayer for me tonight when you're praying for everyone you can think of.  I need all of the help I can get.

Thanks for reading and God bless you all.
Josh.

Bring it home.

In Graphic Design III class, we're designing a logo for a local city's convention bureau.  They want people to not go to other cities around the area for there events, but to stay and allow their home city to have the meetings in their various venues.  The city is well known for its furniture industry and has a lot of buildings for that.

I have a lot of ideas brewing and I can't wait to get into the thumbnail stage.  If I make a successful logo and the bureau chooses it, they will use it for their event!  Pretty exciting.  Then my logo will be on mailers, billboards, etc.  This is a pretty big portfolio piece and it's pretty insane that it's out first project.  I'm ready, though.

Well, that's all I have on this.  I'll update you on how it's going.

Good evening, world.

About that beach trip.

It was really fun.  We went to the beach twice and swam and had a good time.  The first time we went when we got there, I got burnt.  It kinda stunk because I put sunscreen on everywhere, I thought, but it turns out that I missed a few spots and I still feel the burn.  Oh well.

While there, we also got stung by flippin' yellow jackets!  That really sucked.  We were preparing to go out to eat and have a good time.  We took Rusty out and when we were walking him around outside the condominium, he walked over some pine straw.  While on the straw, he yelped really loud and started running around.  I looked and reached down to get him to see what was going on with him and before we knew it, we were being swarmed.  I got stung once on my left hand on my middle finger, my girlfriend got stung on her butt twice, and Rusty got stung once right on his suture from his neutering.  Poor pup.

We survived, though, and ended up having a really nice trip.  When we were leaving, I was pretty sad.  I wanted to stay much longer and relax and enjoy myself.  But as they say, all good things come to an end.  I don't know who "they" are, but they said it.

With all of that being said, I will say this now:  I really love my girlfriend.  Yep.

Well, that's all for now.  Thanks for reading.

Beach!!!

I am thankful to be leaving for my first vacation since 2002 come tomorrow.  I think it is well deserved because since 2002 I've done nothing but work and school with no breaks in between.  I'm really looking forward to it and I have my girlfriend and her family to thank.  I will be going with them and our dog, Rusty.

Sadly, Rusty was neutered a few days ago, so he will not be able to swim or enjoy the beach as much as he should.  I really didn't want Rusty to be fixed yet, but it was not my choice.  It was between my girlfriend and her mom.  Poor dog.

Well, If I don't write while I'm away, I'll write when I get back and maybe sling some pictures on here.

Thank you for reading.

I get slack.

Wow.  I haven't posted in a while.  I bet all of you loyal readers are pretty upset.  Well, I think there's only one loyal reader and that's me, but anyways.

As of late, I've been working and playing lots of tennis.  School got out a few weeks back and I wound up with an "A" in the English class I took.  I was well pleased with the grade I earned.  I had a great teacher, a great group, and a great time in that class.  I'm looking forward to fall classes coming up.

Well, sorry for the break in posts.  I'll work on it.

Thanks for reading.

I need a new job.

I'm tired of working where I am.  I want an awesome job.  I want to take photographs for a living or design for a living.  I need my degree.  What kind of job should I have until I finish my degree?

Here's what I don't want to do:
  • Sell things.
  • Cook things.
  • Deal with annoying managers.
  • Interact with annoying people.
  • Work under lame tight wads.
Is there a job that doesn't fit in that category?  I hope so.

Thanks for reading this nonsense.

Mrs. USA falls for the second year in a row!

For the second year in a row, Miss USA falls in the Miss Universe pageant.  I just witnessed it.  Last year it was..

This year it's..

She went down AGAIN!  What is wrong!  Someone help them!

Good stuff.
Josh.

Very boring Sunday.

Yep.  Very boring.  It seems like all of my Sundays end up being boring.  Most of the time I just sit at home waiting for my girlfriend to finish her homework and she always finishes it at 11:00pm or so, which is much to late to go over there.  It kinda sucks.

On a good note, I just got done watching X Men 2 and it was very good.  Much better than the first one, for me.  A lot longer (seemingly) and much more action.  Good stuff.

Well, have a good one.
Josh.

Work, Work, Work.

I worked today.  All day long just like every Saturday ever.  You know, I really hate the enormous shift on Saturday.  Why in the world does my manager continue to give me the same 12:oopm - 10:00pm shift.  With all of the associates we have at the store, you think he could spread it to where we could all have a better shift on Saturday.  One of my other co-workers that work(ed) there stopped coming and I bet one of the reasons he stopped is because he got 11:00am - 10:00pm every Saturday.  Now, he's one of the better sales people there.  I'm not sure if that's one of the reasons he left, but it makes sense to me.  I mean, other than the fact that it kinda stinks working there.

But, yea.  I now have some Cheerwine, so I'm happy.  If you haven't had that soda before, please try it.

The Derek Trucks Band is pretty awesome.  That's what I'm listening to right now.  They have a really awesome sound.  Kinda bluesy at times and tribal sounding at times.  It's pretty awesome.  Check them out.

Thanks for reading my ramblings
Josh.

Good Ol' Day Off.

I had today off.  I didn't do too much the entire day other than go to eat lunch with my mom and sister and then we went to the used bookstore where I bought X Men 1&2.  I watched the first one.  It's ok, but I was kinda like, "is it really over.." when it ended.  I hope the second one is much better.

I'm in need of a gaming console.  At the used bookstore, they have the newer slimline PS2's in stock for 75 bucks used.  I'm seriously thinking about getting one.  Why not, right.

Well, I might write more later.  I'm talking to my friend who's in Uruguay right now.  He's there on a school trip.

Yep.

Josh.

iPhone 3G unboxing.

I know what you're thinking.. "iPhone!!!!" That's gotta be what you're thinking.

The new iPhone 3G released a little over an hour ago my time (Eastern) and I'm sure there are a lot of happy owners. It's probably almost like bringing a baby home.

Here's an unboxing from Engadget.com

Exciting, I know.

Well, happy iPhoning.

An evening of tennis.

As the title states, I played tennis tonight.  It was pretty humid, so I feel that I probably lost 20lbs or more within the hour and 30 minutes that we played.  It was lots of fun, though.  I need to play daily so I can get back into shape.  I mean, I'm in a shape now, but it's almost too round.

What I really need is an awesome new tennis racquet.  My friend Aman has a pretty awesome racquet that feels nice and light.  I would like to get one of those new Wilson k factor racquets.  I read all of the specs on them that make them cost as much as they do and it seems to be good enough.

Something like this:

That looks about right.  Specs sound good.  Now all I need is the bread.  Or a sponsor.  Yes!

Thanks for readin'.

My birthday.  I enjoy birthdays because they mean that I'm still alive.  It should be a good day.  I'm at school right now, but will be done by 2:30pm.

Yeee Hawww!

Yahoo Logo Situation.

I posted earlier about a discovery I made about a Yahoo logo change.  I went to Yahoo.com to check my e-mail and found a new and very attractive logo at the top.  I was excited.  I went there just now only to discover that the old one is back but with an Independence Day theme thing going on.  This is weird..

Hopefully they'll end up with this..

More developments soon to follow.

Nadal Defeats Federer for First Wimbledon Title.

After a grueling 5 setter, Rafael Nadal wins his first Wimbledon.  He stopped Federer from winning his 6th straight Wimbledon Mens Singles Championship.

Federer 4 4 7 7 7
Nadal    6 6 6 6 9

Pretty awesome.

Yahoo displays new logo.

Is it just me or is Yahoo getting purple and snazzy on us.

Before:

After:

I'm liking it a lot.  I enjoy a new logo every now and then.  One new logo that I don't like as much would have to be this:

New Animal Planet Logo

Old Animal Planet Logo

To me, the older animal planet logo was much better.  I think something else could have been done with this one.  I think they should have just tweaked the old one a bit or just did something a little better than the new one.

I enjoy logos.  Very soon, I'll be the maker of some of these logos.

I hope everyone's have a good day.

Rainy day.

Today was a long one.  I worked 12pm - 10pm.  Definitely not one of my favorite shifts ever, but I'll take the money for it.  I sold loads of mess, though.

It sure enough rained like mad today.  It rained really heavily for a good 5-10 minutes.  I asked my customers that came in if they swam or rowed to get there.  They laughed.  I think it's finally calmed down with the raining.

Well, I'm too tired to write much more, so I'll end now.

Goodnight World.
Josh.

Fireworks.

Tonight we went to the downtown fireworks.  They were pretty ok.  Compared to a lot of the bigger cities fireworks, they're not as extravagant, but they're still very nice.  It actually stormed before the fireworks started and it rained for about 45 minutes or so.  We were kind of afraid that they might not have them, but we hung around just in case.  We were rewarded.

It's the weirdest thing how almost every year it tends to rain on Independence Day.  It's always like that here.  Is it like that anywhere else?  I supposed it's because of the summer time weather conditions.  A popup storm can happen on any given night.  I was very happy that they were able to shoot them off, though.

Speaking of fireworks.. I have this big ol' stash of fireworks upstairs in the spare bedroom's closet that have been up here since 2000 or 2001.  They really need to be shot off.  I've been working on them for a long time.  I think I'm saving the coolest thing in there for about 5 years from now.  Hopefully by then it will still work.  If it doesn't, I'm taking it back for a refund.. 10 years later.

So, how was everyone's Independence Day festivities?

Thanks for reading and for being awesome like usual.
Josh.

Presentation.

The presentation was a "GREAT SUCCESS!"  If you're wondering why I quoted that, it's because Borat says that in movie.  Anywho, my group-mates and I worked on the presentation about solar energy for about 6 days counting 4 out of class.  We got it all ready and delivered it today and made the highest grade in the class of a 95.  We were all pretty excited.  We worked our backsides off to get everything down and ready to go.

Now the next big hurdle is the 17-page proposal that we have due on the 17th of this month.  I think since we have the presentation out of the way, the proposal should be cake.  My group members are some awesome people and they're doing a great job on everything.

Tomorrow (well, now today) I have to work 10am - 6pm.  I'm loving (note sarcasm) the fact that I have to work on Independence Day.  I think this may be the first time I've ever had to work Independence Day.  I guess I better get used to it.  I'm sure there's tons of people that have to work it.  I am one of them.  But, luckily we close at 6pm tomorrow, so I won't miss any festivities, if there are any.  I know I'm going to shoot off some good ol' fireworks.  I've had the same bag of fireworks since 2001 or 2002.  It's nuts.  They last a long time around here.  I guess I just never wanted to shoot them all off because I didn't want to buy anymore.  Some of these that I have might be antiques by now.  Who knows.

Well, thanks for reading my useless nonsense.

Your pal,
Josh.

Yawn.

I'm pretty tired.  I worked for about 8 hours today and it kinda stank.  I only sold one bigger item and that's about it.  Just a few small things here and there.  Oh well.

Tonight I'm working with my group-mates on the oral presentation that we have to deliver tomorrow.  That should be fun.  We're almost done with it.  I cannot wait until summer semester is over.  I need a break.  A break from everything.  Soon, I hope.

I could use some ice cream.  I drove by Cold Stone and DQ on the way home and didn't stop.  How strong willed I am.  I really wouldn't have minded having some kinda strawberry sundae or something.  I think I need one.  It's not a want, it's a need.  I will perish  if I don't get one.  OH.. I see the light.  Ok, well maybe not that serious, but I'd like one.

Who else likes ice cream?  What's your favorite flavor or combination of stuff on top or whatever?

Top Hi-Definition Camcorders.

Working at Circuit City, I see plenty of different pieces of technology roll through.  As of late, I've been really pleased with the advancement of technology of the camcorders.  They've come a long way from where they used to be.  Way back when, they used to weight 900 lbs. and sit on your shoulder.  Now some of them are so small that you can throw them in your pocket.  Some of the coolest camcorders on the marker right now are the hi-def ones.

Below are a list of Hi-Def camcorders that are a few of my favorites.

Sony HDR-SR11
Shoot video and still photographs like a pro. Sony's HDR-SR11 Handycam camcorder has everything you need for a superior video and photo experience. Its Face Detection technology, made possible by the ClearVid CMOS sensor (with Exmor technology) and BIONZ image processor, helps make sure people look their best in videos and photos. Capture extremely detailed video in Full 1920 x 1080 High Definition resolution, as well as stunning 10.2 megapixel still photos. The camcorder records directly to a built-in 60GB hard drive or your choice of removable Memory Stick Duo or Memory Stick PRO Duo media.

Sony HDR-SR12

Complete the picture. The HDR-SR12 Handycam® camcorder delivers an incredible, Full HD 1920 x 1080 high definition video package built around an internal 120GB hard disk drive. A professional-quality Carl Zeiss® Vario-Sonnar® T* lens and ClearVid™ CMOS sensor (with Exmor™ technology) and BIONZ™ image processor let you capture crisp, detailed video and still images. Additionally, Super SteadyShot® optical image stabilization and Face Detection technology help reduce blur, increase color and contrast, and make everyone look their best.

Sony HDR-SR10
Sony SR10
The HDR-SR10 Handycam camcorder delivers everything you need to shoot stunning Full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution video and 4 megapixel still images. With Hybrid recording technology, you can record to either an internal 40GB hard disk drive or removable Memory Stick Duo or Memory Stick PRO Duo media. A Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T* lens and ClearVid CMOS sensor (with Exmor technology) and BIONZ image processor let you capture every detail in video and still images. Additionally, Face Detection technology helps everyone put their best face forward, while the Super SteadyShot optical image stabilization system helps ensure images remain sharp and true.

As you can see from above, I feel that Sony is doing a really good job in their Hi-Def lineup. Note, I didn't post any professional level camcorders because we don't keep any in stock at the store.  Coming up soon I'll talk a little about those.

Thanks for reading.

My Day off.

Today has been rather dull.  All I've done today is gone to breakfast at Bojangles.  It was pretty decent, though.  Oh, I also was given a set of golf clubs.  They're pretty cool.  They're some of my Dad's.  It was very nice of him to give them to me.

I hope to go to my girlfriend's house here in a little bit after she finishes her homework.  She's swell.

Anyone have a GPS unit?  I'd like to have one.  We sell them at my job and the salesmen say that the Garmin are the best.  I've found a few on Craigslist that seemed to be good units for good prices.  I'm looking for a free one, but that's not going to happen.

If anyone reads this and has a GPS, let me know what kind you have and how pleased you are with it.

Thanks
Josh.

This is slow.

I need to somehow generate hits and comments.  How?  I do not know.  Well, I sorta know, but not really.  I've tried, yet it doesn't work.  Maybe most people don't want to read my random thoughts?  I thought people might want to read my random thoughts.  Maybe blogger is above random thoughts.  Probably.  Maybe I'll generate this blog more towards something really interesting like.. paint drying, different soups, chess matches, or something else dull.  That might fix my issues.

But, yea.

Thanks for reading.  Enjoy the paint drying processes.
Josh.

Driving Range.

I just got home from the driving range.  You know, I like it when people come in there and they look so professional like they're going to smash every ball they hit, but they end up doing not great.  I guess they just have nice stuff to work with.  I'm not really good at driving the ball, but I'm good enough.  I've actually just started going to the driving range.  My friend Aman and I have been going for the past 2 Saturdays now.  It's pretty fun.  I hope to get good enough soon to play a real game of golf.  Hopefully.

Work was pretty ok today.  It started out slow and dull, but as the day went along, it got better.  Slow days are OK during the week but if I'm working a Saturday, I'd rather it be pretty quick paced.  I sold a lot of junk, though.

I hope everyone else's Saturday went well.

Josh.

A day at work.

Today was right rough at work.  I sold lots of crap, but I was there forever.  Well, not forever, because I've been there forever before.  Forever would be like the 4:00am - 11:30pm day I had on the day after Thanksgiving.  Today was only a 9 hour day, but it seemed pretty long.  I did have a pretty big ticket today, though.  These two older people bought a PS2 (with warranty), a TomTom go730 (with warranty), 5 games, 7 movies, two laptop bags, and some batteries.  The total was about 1,200, I believe.  That was probably my largest and most productive sale.

I'm tired of selling junk..

I want to be a voice over actor.  Yes.  That sounds fun.  I want to be the voice of characters on animation movies.  Speaking of that, I'm looking forward to seeing the movie Wall-e.  My girlfriend and I were supposed to see it tonight, but she had some homework she needed to do.  I can understand that because I have some I need to do as well.  I work again tomorrow, but only until 5.  It shouldn't be too bad, although it is Saturday tomorrow.

I hope everyone else's day went well.  You may hear from me again tonight because I feel this will be a rather dull night.

Thanks for readin'.
Josh.

Today went..

pretty darn well.  I hung out with my girlfriend most of the day after I got out of school.  School was pretty rough today, though.  We started to do some work on our 17 page proposals and it was really confusing.  It's kind of tough to understand the layout of it to start with, for some reason.  I have never had to write anything this long before in my entire life.  It's going to be a monumental task, but it has to be done.  I want to make an "A" in this ENG-114 class very badly.  I'm looking to make the dean's list.  An "A" in this class would make me extremely ecstatic.  I'm confident that I can do it.

I have to work tomorrow (well, now it's today).  I'm not necessarily looking forward to that at all especially since I didn't work at all last week.  I really want a new job, but I'm not super sure as to what I want to do next.  I'd really love a job in the graphic design field, but I currently don't have my degree.  Soon enough, though.  I'm ready to jump in to it.

Well, that's all for now.  Thanks for reading.

Your newest and most awesome friend on the planet,
Josh.

First Blog Post!

How exciting is this.  This is my very first post to Blogspot.  I'm pretty excited.  I've been around to many different blogging websites such as LiveJournal, Xanga, Myspace, and Facebook and just decided to try here.  I'm hoping to get infinity hits a day of people who only want to read my nonsense.  It's going to be fun.  I may even post insightful things sometimes as well.  So, stay tuned.

Thanks for reading.
Josh.
